one year mba or accelerated mba?

Dear Stacy,

I am a international student. I will apply for 2008 fall mba programs. However, there are too many options for me to choose. For example, ther are one year mba and accelerated mba. I want to work in American for several years after my graduation. I am afriad that if I take this kind of programs that I will have no chance to work in America. How do companies in America evaluate this kind of programs?

It's great that you are starting to research your programs now. In order to make a decision, the best way to start is to establish what your criteria are. There is a sticky thread in this forum on choosing schools that will help you with that first step.

In terms of the reputation of one year programs in the US, it really depends on what school is offering the program, which companies you are trying to work at, etc. Accelerated programs like Columbia's or Kellogg's are definitely reputable, but you may lose an internship or other career tool that may be useful.
