Kaplan SC - Moghuls

We can look at this construction as :

Moghuls devised X and Y. ( with || X and Y). This will give A as the correct answer.

OR

Moghuls did X and did Y , which will give C as the correct answer.
My question :

OA is A for the reasons mentioned above. But, why is not C ? What's incorrect in the reasoning for this option?

Any takers?
Received a PM. I don't normally answer SC questions because it's not exactly my area of expertise... I specialize in RC and mainly CR :)

Here, the main answer is clear: A is correct because of the parallelism. You need to have all nouns in the construction: a machine, a system and a method.

I understand this confuses you slightly: why not have parallelism between devised xyz and codified xyz? The reason is simple: the parallelism with nouns has three elements (see above), while the parallelism with verbs has only two elements. This should tick the balance in favor of the noun parallelism - or at least that's my take at it...

the list actually has three items .
in llelism type s/c one has to be crystal clear regarding the list
here non underline part a system of land tenure is a part of list
and its a noun phrase
to llel this we need a noun phrase which is A

Thanks buddy! Have realized my mistake now.

Yes, the list is actually of three items. I thought the second one is a modifier for the first hence, asked this question. Again, I realize how important it is to read the question carefully ! I was very foolish to jump the gun just after gazing at the structure.

Thanks again!

nope -- you can't look at it in the second way.

this isn't a list of two things -- it's a list of THREE things.
the last two items in the list follow signals (the second item follows a comma, and the third follows comma + "and"). therefore, these elements are non-negotiable -- you must include all words that follow these signals.

i.e.,
the second element MUST be "a system of land tenure", since that's what follows the comma.

therefore, the other elements of the parallel structure must be nouns, so, right off the bat, (a) is the only one that works.
