nia went to the mall and spent 2/5 of her daily allowance on a new book. she then spent 2/3 of the remainder of her allowance on a shirt, leaving just 7us$ for her to save. what is nia’s daily allowance ?
Let, Nia's allowance = x
For book = 2x/5
Remaining = 3x/5
Shirt = 2/3 of remaining amount = 2/3 * 3x/5 = 2x/5
So, total exp = 4x/5
Remaining = x/5 = 7
x = 35.

ummm sometimes when I read this kind of problem, I feel it's too easy to be true, but here is what I think:

x being her daily allowance we have the following equation:

x-(2/5*x+2/3*(3/5*x))=7 which gives x=35. ?
