Acads- Avergae student, Bachelors Degree in electronics (64%)- Dont know equivalent GPA,
Master of Computer Applications(MCA) (58%).
Work Ex. - Total 8.5 years, in a sub-managerial role at the moment.
Extra Curriculars - School football team captain, participated in Delhi Marathon and volunteered in old age home.
GMAT 1st Attempt - 500 (Suffer from ADD)
My rather bold ambition is to get selected and pursue a full time mba at a top20 school. Have been studying for the gmat since the past couple of months as I believe I was overconfident and underprepared for the first. Given my rather average background and above-average age, how bright are my chances to get into a decent school. My preference is to go for a full time MBA instead of an exec one.
I keep reading how people directly out of school are being picked up by schools these days. How better do the chances get if I get a 700+ gmat, clear project management certification and be very clear about the reasons I am opting for an mba (good essays that is)?
The idea of doing all of the above and still getting nowhere sounds troubling to me at the moment. Wanted a second opinion on whether these sound like a plan and what else I could do to add value to my profile.
Please advice.
