Recommendations or Suggestions

I just took my GMAT this morning and scored a 740 (Q-50, V-40), first attempt. I have opted to send my scores to Chicago Booth, Duke Fuqua, Insead, Stanford and Wharton. I am an Indian citizen, working in the US for last 4 years as a Professional Engr after completing my Masters from Wayne State University, Detroit, MI.(4.0 GPA) Before, that, I have worked in India as an Engr for 3 years after completing my UG (3.9 GPA). Based on these facts, do you think my choice of schools are realistic?

Should I also include some more choices in my list (the ones I have in mind are Ross, McCombs, Cornell) for my applications?

Dear becnil,

Congratulations on your GMAT score! I think you have a shot at your target schools. However, they are all highly selective and a reach for any applicant. I think it would be prudent for you to apply to 2-3 other programs that are more reasonable to safety options for you as a back up plan. McCombs and Cornell would be more reasonable to reach choices, so you might consider identifying a program outside the top 20 for a safety option.
