Pamplin MBA, Virginia Tech v/h Hofstra NY

Experts,

I got a admit from Pamplin VT and Hofstra NY. I am still in dilemma which to join--

Pamplin Pros & cons--

Pros--

1) Reputed university in US
2) Low fee 22K per year tutiton fee

Cons--

1) Geographical proximity--located on remote area. Less opportunities for jobs/ internships

On the other hand, Hofstra

Pros--

1) located in long island, near to NY.
2) i got 28k scholarship[ for two years, so rest of tuition fee is 13k per year.

Cons--

never heard about it.

Pamplin is quite better then Hofstra. Do not even think about it, andshould go for Pamplin.

Dear SP,

You note important pros and cons, but there is nothing about what you are personally looking for in your MBA experience. At the end of the program, you are the biggest determining factor in what job you have and where--not the school. I have seen MBA students secure jobs across the country from where they go to school because they put the time and effort into it and made it happen. So, I think you are going to have to determine which schools seems to be the best fit for you based on what criteria is most important to you. Do you value the culture over the curriculum? the industry connections over the culture? Perhaps one has school has distinguished itself more in the process? or been more forthcoming with information? or you could chat with current students to get a better idea of what it is like at each program? You might also want to go back through the data more closely to see if one has a better track record of placement in your desired industry. Finally, you will have to decide how much location and the cost matter on your list--if these are high up there, then you might have your answer.
