Assuming your quant score wouldn't dip if you neglected it for about a month, I would recommend reading for 4-5 hours a day. Just read. There is no quick fix for this. You're going to have to get to the point where you can understand the material you read before you can advance to tackling the questions. I would recommend getting the PowerScore Critical Reasoning Bible. That will really help you with CR.

If you're looking for more problems, try purchasing one of Kaplan's online offerings--that will get you access to our CATs and Quiz Banks, ensuring you won't run out of material to practice. You also can try tracking down some free online sources, such as the 1000 CR file and LSAT problems, but many of those sources are of iffy quality or don't properly represent the GMAT, so you should use caution.

As for improving your understanding of CR passages on the first attempt, the key is IDing the type of question. The skills that you'll need to identify the parts of an argument on Strengthen, Weaken, and Assumption questions are very different from those necessary to paraphrase the facts in an Inference; if you try to use the wrong techniques, you'll get lost.

GMAT vocabulary is a waste of time. Vocabulary is almost never directly tested, and with critical reading and use of keywords and context clues, you can either guess or ignore the meaning of the majority of tough vocab. This isn't the GRE!

Finally, if you're looking to understand the whole passage on your first attempt, you need to focus on what you must understand. You rarely need to have a deep grasp of the author's actualy thesis. Rather, you need to have an understanding of the role of his individual points. For example, you would not need to understand how or why a nuetron joins with a proton to form a deuteron; you would need to understand, however, the nuetron/dueteron pairs is provided as an example of one of three reasons that scientist believe the big bang is accurate.
