the question starts with "In contrast with". This is catch for such question.
The rule is
Similar things can be comapared. For example, Horror movie can not be compared with Romantic one. Am I logical here?

So, here, trade deficit of US with China and Japan is comared with that of Mexico.

B: ignore it. Sales record of US is being compared to trade deficit.
C: Ignore. US is compared to trade. Impossible.

D and E follows the same.

I will go with A.

one more vote for A....here it doesnt make sense to use COMPARE here...coz the situation is...in spite of trade imbalances X happens..this is clearly depicted in A...wht's the OA??
