How is this possible? gmat prep result ques.

by zonda12 » Sun Feb 28, 2010 6:33 pm
I probably use gmatprep in a strange way, but here goes...

I did just the first 18 questions on the Quant part, but because I had to go somewhere, I ended up clicking any answer and hitting next for the rest. So I 'guessed' the rest - I wanted to see if the first 18 were correct.

About 4-5 of the first 18 were wrong, and I guessed 3 right in the 19 afterward.

At the end, my scaled Q result was 40 - how is that possible? I don't consider 40 to be quite good, but it's not a bad result for a LOT of guessing. I got max 16/37 ques. right. I'm aware that gmat is a CAT exam, but that does seem strange to me.

since the raw scores are weighted by difficulty levels,
maybe the first 15 questions you got right are the hardest questions. n u the ones u guessed easy ones.
i doubt gmatprep would make a calculation mistake.
