"In some countries, television and radio programs are carefully censored for some offensive language and behavior. In other countries, there is little or no censorship."
In your view, to what extent should government or any other group be able to censor television or radio programs? Explain, giving relevant reasons and /or examples to support your position.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In some countries, television and radio programs are carefully censored for some offensive language and behavior. In other countries, there is little or no censorship." Here, in this context I would like to support the former statement refuting the later one.
Television and radio are to be considered as the strongest mode of media and there is no wonder in maximum of the mass get overly influenced with these. There are some countries that impose strong censor rules on the programs broadcasting on air and some are not. Nowadays children are the maximum spectators of the television and a tender mind is always easy to influence or mold. The concept of joint family is outmoded now and in most of the families parents are working, so getting access to any program airing on television or the radio is no matter at all. As a result of that children nowadays grow up with the characters appearing in the shows, their activity ,attitude and there way of showing life, language they are using, values they are conveying , everything directly get injected into the vain of our kids. So the mental well being of gen-x kids is very much dependent on this part of media shows.
There are some programs in the television which shows violence to its ultimate, as an example, once in an Indian movie; they have showed that the hero of film pushed the heroine from the rooftop of a multi storied just to take revenge. After the movie release there were several cases where many young guys imitated the same act in case of taking any revenge or after a refusal in love.
Again in some television channel they air some obscene programs which obviously put a deep impact on the children's mind. In various parts of the world the molestation and rape cases are increasing with the time. If we do some soul search, we would find the reason behind that. Everything which once used to be a secret has become easily available to the people and a mentality of "everything is possible" is building up very rapidly.
Some shows directly hit the sentiment of any particular region or particular province or any particular belief which incurs to a very obvious conflict of thought and then to a prominent conflict and then it can results to religious riot which is not at all preferable for a healthy society.
Still in there are some news channels ,which proudly broadcast some shows related to some superstitions which are not at all agreeable to an educated ,new aged society. But still they show and there are still some people who get influenced to these.

Some news channel spreads rumors about any natural calamities; they exaggerate the news and convey it to the people which are very much fatal to any society. For example, rainy season in Mumbai is very dangerous, sometimes it causes flood as well, sometimes the news channels show some video clips of some water logged areas, where in reality there were no rains at all. It conveys fake information to the public. Sometime they keep on showing the old video clips just to keep the panic in high spirit among the mass.
Television and radio are to be considered as the strongest media in the current scenario and anything broadcasting on it would influence specially our younger generation who are future of this world, who are the building blocks of this world. So whatever they see, whatever they learn and how they act, everything should be scrutinized very seriously. If we want our future to be perfect we have build a very strong present and it will only be possible if we take good care of our children's physical as well as mental health.
Henceforth, radio and television programs should be censored very carefully before broadcasting just to make sure that we are passing on some quality teachings to our next generation and of course we are taking care of our mental health. As we know if you put your energy in anything negative it would not reduce but would multiply. Why to air some shows which leaves a deep negative impact on our brain and we react in a very negative way accordingly. So, censoring of some shows are truly necessary.
