I had received an interview invite some time back and my interview is on the 20th of this month. Face-to-face in New York. I'll update this post with my interview experience once i'm done.

All the best and keep hope.

I interviewed by videoconference. I had offered to interview in NYC on the 7th, because I was in town, but they said they were only doing it on the 20th.

The interview was my first one, and it was awkward. I dont think I did well. Consequently I was waitlisted and invited to assessment day in NYC on January 31. I have until January 5 to decide if I'm going to go.... I emailed back asking for clarification on the assessment day (i.e. is it a dealbreaker either way)

Let me know what you guys find out!

hey palermo, I had an interview last weekend and today I received an email from them saying that I've been waitlisted and have been invited for the assessment day on Jan 31st in NYC.

So have you heard back from them on what the Assessment day is all about? Are you planning to attend the assessment day?

I tried to get as much info out of them as I could, but I received just the general responses. I understand it is team activities, maybe another interview? In my opinion, and it is only my opinion, it is just a way to weed out those that are serious about attending and those that are not.

I told them yesterday I would be there. A nice $350 flight from Phoenix. I interpreted their responses to mean that if I dont go, I certainly wont get in. So why not.

Hey, guys !

I've gone through Assessment Day on 28 Nov 09, waitlisted though...
Here is the rough schedule:
1. Basic Quiz (who is presidentin Russia, capital of Madagascar, IESE professors)
2. Self presentation
3. The Case Study by groups and its presentation

Good luck!

Wow, they really ask you questions like that in #1? I am an avid traveler (I was in Argentina all last week B-) ) but the capital of Madagascar I would never get.

Hi, Can anyone throw some more light on the assessment day? (like how long is it, what are the case studies based on etc.)

I had no idea that some schools had assessment days. Thankfully none of the school I'll be applying to have these, because I would not know the capital of Madagascar!

How soon after the assessment day do you hear back from them re: acceptance?

Assessment day is an all-day event. You break off into groups and every group gets a random case study that they have to present. It is not easy - a lot of brilliant and opinionated minds!
