MGMAT quant prep

AT this point of time in my prep, It might sound silly to ask whether MGMAT Quants are realistic for GMAT prep...

Even though I am pushing myself for High quant say (50/51), I see MGMAT quants are way beyond GMAT way of asking..

Is this my own perception r am i wrong??

I am pretty sure MGMAT is 60-75 % of our CAT (Indian based)..but how is it maps to GMAT ??

Plz ,someone shed some light on it!!

To some extent, you are right. MGMAT Quants are a bit harder than GMATPrep. Why it looks little harder is because of enormous computations involved in each problem when compared to actual GMAT.

But i feel that MGMAT is a great practice. If you get accustomed to harder questions, you will be comfortable in the actual exam. This is my perception.

I disagree that its 60-75 % of CAT. I've personally experienced CAT exam. IMO, CAT is way different from MGMAT and actual GMAT.

I think MGMAT Quanty is little ahead,if not more, of GMATPrep. I am not able to score more than 47-48 in MGMAT cats; however, I always score 49 ( not less not more ) in GMATPreps.

No idea how thats gonna convert on the G-Day..

I scored 50 twice in GMAT prep..but 45-48 in MGMAT..Now that my only hope to push my score is quant & i cant risk it..

Probabilty based questions are damn tuf in MGMAT Vis-a-vis GMAT prep... How much % does Probabilty has in Real GMAT prep?? I saw 2 questions in my prep..will that be the same?

Assuming I miss both the questions wrong...still i can make 35/37( assuming 100% accuracy levels) will that give me 51??

In short, how many questions i can get wrong ( agreed that the toughness of question matters) to score 51??

At the max 2/3/4??

It's impossible to deduce number of questions that could be answered wrong and still score a 51. It all depends on what level of questions you have answered correctly throughout the exam. It could be 2 or even 5 IMO. Really can't say anything from GMAC's scoring algorithm.

Coming to probability questions, of late i've been hearing that people get sometimes 3-4 probability questions. When i wrote last July, i didn't face a single question in Probability. So, i guess GMAC is introducing more number of probability questions as experimental questions. Be sure that you expect atleast 4 questions in real exam and study accordingly. If this is your weakness, you better get prepared on this topic. But the good thing is very rarely you get hard probability questions in actual GMAT. MGMAT in this case is going out of scope. The way they prepare probability questions is highly unrealistic in actual exam. So, if you strengthen your basics in probability and if you are able to crack easy and moderate questions, then you are just fine.
