Hi Domnu , B is wrong because "more" is modifying "substitute" which is wrong here because we do not have any other action here (to be compared to susbtitute)
Instead , we need to associate "more" with "quarters" and "dollar bills".

I feel this construction is wrong and the correct version would be

its weight, only 8.1 grams, is far less than that for four quarters
