MGMAT score

by Due » Sat Jan 30, 2010 12:09 am
Hello friends,

I have been taking MGMAT tests and my score has been consistently improving. So far so good. The score in quant was 47 and that in verbal was 40. My verbal score has consistently increased 29,33,37 and now 40 and I am happy about it.

I was just thinking that quant in mgmat is harder than the real one. I have taken official practice test and I reckon that as compared to that of mgmat, verbal was of same level. I scored 50 in quant in GmatPrep.

I think I would always be able to make it to 50 in tests which are of the same level as GmatPrep. I have scored 50 in some other test too.

I am tempted to consider my score as Q-50, V-40 as of now.

Am I wrong or unreallistic.

the MGMAT quant is definitely tougher than that actual GMAT's quant. As for verbal though, I am not quite sure. I was scoring pretty much the same in my MGMAT CATs. In the test, the pressure got to me, the verbal questions were a tad tougher and I ended up spending 10 mins on ONE rc question, totally forgetting that I was taking a timed exam.

So, you may want to boost you verbal a bit more coz the MGMAT CATS test only concepts that have been explainined in great detail in their guides. On the real GMAT, you may end up seeing stuff in SC which you haven't really worked on before.

With the mgmat CATs you will score within 50 points of your practice score. If you want a certain score, I would say wait until your scores are about 30 points ahead of the actual score you want and then register for the test.

I have made these improvements not by dint of aditioanal material. I had been thrugh all the usual study material when I scored 29 for the first time. After that I tried to make myself relaxed and attentive during the tests. That itself has been inreasing my performance And off course I always had set up the target for next test. That determination along with anlysis of previous mistakes has helped me.

Next I am targetting a better time management so that I dont have to rush through last couple of questions. I a sure this will increase my next score by at least 3 points.

Will post the result of my next test very soon.

Incidentally, MGMAT SC is good. Go for it.

MGMAT Verbal is not perfected yet... it's definitely easier than the official gmat exam

Possible. Any other test you can say is better than MGMAT when it comes to verbal.I would like to try that. Better harder than easier.

What do other peopple have to say about the level of MGMAT verbal.

Easier, equal, harder?

I recommend getting the powerscore critical reasoning bible. Their critical reasoning is better than mgmat's

Yes that is good, indeed.

I had asked about the MGMA when compared to GMAT, it is harder or easier.

I know that PowerScore has a Verbal Bible, but I'm not sure if it has RC techniques in it. Do you have all of the MGMAT books?
