Hi everyone,

I need some advice. I am planning to apply to Schulich (York), but their first round deadline is Feb 1st. I have not yet finished the mandatory essays, but I believe I may finish them by the deadline. However, there is one optional essay, which is used to evaluate scholarships, that I won't be able to finish. If I'm not planning to apply for a scholarship, should I skip the optional essay and send it by the first round deadline?

Is there truly no way that you can finish that last essay? Worst comes for worst you should call the admissions office and speak to them about it... maybe don't give them your name though

Actually, I have an even bigger problem now. One of my recommender's computer crashed, so she lost my recommendation letter... She probably won't be able to redo it by Feb 1st.

Oh well...at least there are some advantages in waiting. I'll have more time to spend on the essays and actually write the optional one. Also, I may consider writing the GMAT again.

aw Mr_T i'm sorry to hear that! just remember that "everything happens for a reason" so it'll all work out in the end.
