If Ann saves x dollars each week and Beth saves y dollars each week, what is the total amount that they save per week?
(1) Beth saves $5 more per week than Ann saves per week.
(2) It takes Ann 6 weeks to save the same amount that Beth saves in 5 weeks.
A. Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient.
B. Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient.
C. BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.
D. EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.
E. Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.

IMO C

Stmt 1 - gives relation between x and y as y-x=5. No more info so NOT SUFF

Stmt 2 - gives relation between x and y as 6x=5y. No more info so NOT SUFF

Together, we can solve for x and y. SUFF

Let Beth's savings per week be B
Let Ann's savings per week be A

1) B - A = 5

Insufficient

2) 6A = 5B
So, 5B - 6A = 0

Insufficient

Combining the 2 statements, we get 2 equations and 2 variables. So, it's solvable :)

IMO it's C
