The question reduces to (y-1)*5 = r *(y-1)--> (y-1)*(r-5) = 0


1) r2 = 25
r = 5 or - 5 , when r = 5 then Y could be any integer , it could be 1,2,3, etc..., if r = -5 then y = 1... but we dont know if r = -5 . So NOT SUFF
(2) r = 5
y can be 1 , 2 , 3.....anything when r = 5 so NOT SUFF

Combing both statements all u can get is r = 5.. BUt r = 5 , means y could be any thing..so NOT SUFF...
If r would have been -5 then y can have only one value ,i.e 1) , but this is not the case here
