510 (42 Q, 20 V)

I took GMAT today and scored abysmally 510. The verbal in the real GMAT was much harder than verbal in the MGMAT.

Kaplan CD Practice Test 1 28-Feb-09 26 29 520
Kaplan CD Practice Test 2 7-Mar-09 33 23 530
GMATprep Test 1 14-Mar-09 44 23 560
Princeton Reivew CAT 1 22-Mar-09 44 30 610
Manhattan GMAT CAT 1 14-Nov-09 44 31 610
Manhattan GMAT CAT 2 21-Nov-09 45 31 620
GMATprep Test 2 29-Nov-09 41 27 560
Real GMAT 15-Dec-09 42 20 510

I guess I need to work on my verbal.

Sometimes, you just get 3-4 RC wrong in a row and it drags your score down. You have to find your weakness and then work on it. I thought I was good with RC until I analyzed my score and realized it was really something I had to work onto. I went from 23 to 33 just by addressing my weaknesses.

Thanks carllecat for the advice.

I got 4 RCs: 3 short and 1 long and RC is my weakness. I ran out of time so I had to guess on last 4 RC questions.

I thought CR was my strong point but during the test I wasn't able to concentrate and understand the argument clearly. I had SC under control as I had studied MGMAT SC book several times but I guess SC alone could not help in getting high points in the verbal.

Carllecat,

How did you improve your RC?

Carllecat,

How did you improve your RC?
By reading a lot. My friend gave me a bunch of his The Economist magazines and spent more than 2 hours per day reading there. Within a month, I improved a lot!
