A month ago I took the GMAT and scored a 670, wanting to get closer to a 700 I decided to take the GMAT a month later. Work got really hectic and I did not have a lot of time to study and ended up with a 640 my second time around. I was wondering if this drop will hurt me in any way?

Should I explain this drop in score in my application?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks in advace!

What scores were reported the school? If both scores were reported, the school usually takes only the one with the highest score. So - the answer to your question is no. You do not have to explain your situation to schools.

Hope this helps.
