CMA/MBA vs. MBA Alone

by Abdul Hafez » Mon Dec 14, 2009 10:50 am
I am trying to choose between the MBA program and the combined CMA/MBA program. I do have an accounting degree but I am only going after what is more valuable to have in this case, not because I want to have a career in accounting. The only reason I am considering a CMA along with an MBA is because it seems like it would be more valuable to have since I would be "hitting two birds with one stone" by attaining two renowned designations.

However, the CMA program does take away from some of the advanced year courses required in a full MBA program. I know this might be too general of a question, but what do multi-national companies perceive as being more valuable for a candidate to have, a complete MBA designation or a combined CMA/MBA designation? In other words, what will you get the best jobs and with the highest starting salaries?

If you anyone could let me know, that would be great.

Thanks
