Please evalute my profile

Hi Stacy,

I'm from Morocco 35 old yr, an MBA aspirant, looking to apply for fall 2010. I will be taking GMAT in two weeks. for my GPA I ranked a top of my class this was in 95 (long time ago Smile) it was in Morocco.

this is my profile:
PhD in applied Math (have published so far more than 10 papers)
spent 5-6 years in France (speak French fluently+Arabic mother language)
Posdoc at Univ of Michigan
currently I hold a faculty position at a big state Univ in the Midwest
I do have some community service contributions; I was a in the board director of a religious non profit organization for 3 years.
I have a clear plan what to do after MBA
I am thinking about applying to Yale since they have a good program in non profit management.
my questions:
1) How do you perceive my chances considering the above profile? Could you please list about 5 schools wherein I stand a healthy chance for admission.
2) I am working on my essays and planing to include my leadership experience in non profit organization, I am wondering if it is appropriate since it is a religious organization how do I need to approach that.
Thanks in advance.

Looking forward to your response.

Dear bou_k,

I encourage you to visit our sticky on school selection for tips on selecting schools that might be a match for you. With the limited information you posted, I cannot really comment on your chances at any school. Your leadership experience in the nonprofit is fine to write about--it is not necessarily the nature of the organization that you are writing about; it is your involvement and contribution that is important. So, as long as you are not focusing your essay on the mission and activities of the organization, but on your contribution and utilization of your skills, then there should be no problem writing about your experiences with that group.

Good luck,
Lisa
