So that / Such that

Can anyone tell me the difference between the usage of "so that " and "such that".. ?

As far as I understand they are both idiomatic expressions...but I would be happy to learn more..

"so that" denotes a purpose
"such that" denotes a manner/way of some action

i am 99% sure that you'll NEVER see "such that", in one piece, in a correct answer on the gmat.
as for "such ... that", with words in between, i think that's unlikely as well; i'm about 80-90% sure you won't see that in a correct answer, either.

i've only seen "such that" in 2 contexts:
(1) in a mathematical context ("consider integers x, y such that x > y").
- obviously, you won't see this sort of thing in a sentence-correction problem.

(2) "such a/an ADJ NOUN that..." (for instance, X was such a good book that i couldn't put it down).
- in this case, i think the "so ADJ that" replacement will always be considered better.
for instance:
laila had such a loud voice that she could be heard all the way down the street. --> not as good
laila had a voice so loud that she could be heard all the way down the street. --> better
