Official GMAT score reporting clarification

Hi guys,

I am taking my GMAT on Jan 18th and I just read on the mba.com website that the 'official' GMAT score report comes after 20 days, and I scheduled my GMAT on Jan 18th to make it in time for the Feb 1st deadlines.

All universities require the 'official' GMAT score for the application to be complete.

So, the 5 schools that we choose to report to before taking the GMAT, and is reported immediately at the completion of the exam, is that not considered as an official GMAT score?!

Pls clarify consultants / current MBA students.

The official score that can take up to 20 days is the score that includes your AWA.

When I took the GMAT, it took roughly a week to get the e-mail with my official score (including the AWA). The 5 schools that you select during the GMAT will all get your official score.

A week sounds reasonable, but its the 20 days that I am worried about, I am not sure what the average time it takes, me being an International applicant, will probably take longer.

So the report that you recvd after a week is the one that is mailed to 5 schools? I was under the impression that the score is reported immediately at the completion of the exam.

I really wanna apply by the Feb 1st deadline, but I guess, its too close for comfort!
