Recommendations

by viveklath » Sun Nov 15, 2009 1:29 am
Hi,

My questions is around recommendations. I worked for a consulting firm in US about 3 years ago. Would it be prudent to take recos from folks from this company. It is too big a gap to choose a recommending person.

After that I worked for another company for 1.5 years. There are many there who would write recos for me. However from past one year I have been an entrepreneur running a venture on my own. Hence there is no one I can identify who has interacted with me enough in past one year to write me a recommendation. Could this reduce the weight of my app.

Vivek

Dear Vivek,

You want to ask people who worked with you for at least a year, will comment on your in a positive way, and are fairly recent. Since you don't have anyone from your current job, the previous one is a good choice. I think you could then ask someone from either that company or the consulting firm for your second recommendation.

Good luck,
Lisa
