Which 640 do I report?

Took the GMAT for the third time today and got 640 lol

unofficial
640 (Q46 76%, V31 58%, overall 75%)
I also got a 640 from March 2009
640 (43 68%, V35 74%, overall 76%), AWA 5, 55%

Which 640 do I report? I have to report either one of the scores to a school I already applied to. They were waiting for my updated score and boy, they are going to be disappointed!!!!!

My practice/diagnostic scores have ranged from 710 to 620 (total around 10-12 practice CATS)

The answer to your question largely depends on your background. What was your major in college? What was your GPA? What kind of work do you do? What country are you from? Is English your second language?

I am a mechanical engineer. English is not my native language but I have lived in the US for 15 years. Have my UG and master degree both in the US.

UG GPA was 3.4 in an Ivy engineering school

I guess it might be better to highlight verbal "procificency" (if you call V35 proficient lol) in my case?

Just submit both and write some really awesome essays to prove your proficiency - and hopefully in your interview.

Hi,

While some schools will accept both scores, that isn't always the case. Many schools ask you to submit just one. Given your degree and work experience I don't think anyone would doubt your quantitative proficiency, but it is generally best to submit the score with the highest quant. It will be important that you put together a solid resume, essays, and nail your interview to demonstrate your proficient communication skills.
