Hi,

I recently applied to George Washington University for their MS in Project Management. I feel that I am a strong candidate (good work experience, BS in CompE, MS in EE, GPAs are 3.43 and 3.75 respectively, good recommendations) but my GMAT score was a 490 (first attempt). I have a few weeks before the admissions deadline but I'm wondering if I should really try to hurry up and take it again. Their average GMAT score is 550. Any suggestions?

Not sure why you wouldn't try to take it again?

there is a very short turnaround time for the application deadline...

Meaning you don't have a lot of time until the application is due? If you think you can improve your score, I would take it again.

Call the school and see whether you can re-take GMAT after submitting your application. Usually, most schools let you submit the application (as long as you mention in your appln. that you plan to retake by such and such date).

re-take GMAT within a month's time frame. This way, your focus stays on your application process and switch your focus later on taking the GMAT. Hope this helps!

Good Luck!
