Practice GMAT scores...makes no sense...

by jaydas86 » Thu Nov 12, 2009 6:09 pm
Hi Guys,

This is one amazing website, and I was hoping you guys can provide thoughts on my practice scores:

Knewton #1 - 640 (10/1)
Knewton #2 - 690 (10/8)
Knewton #3 - 580 (11/8)
GMAT Prep #1 - 760 (Q51 V40)(11/9)
Princeton Review - 620 (11/10)
Manhattan GMAT #1 - 600 (11/11)
GMAT Prep #2 - 740 (Q51 V37)(11/12)

The pattern of my scoring makes no sense...Does it make sense that I am scoring so much higher in GMAT Prep Practice Tests, compared to other test prep practice tests?

I have my actual GMAT in 2 weeks...Should I be stressed or feel confident about my scores in GMAT Prep?
I would really appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks and good luck on your GMAT prep.

GMAT Prep > anything else.

GMAT Prep is the only one that usues the true scoring algorithm. Other prep test use different algorithms, their questions may have a different structure, they may be more difficult, etc.

Instead of worrying about why your scores are lower on other services, I'd be channeling that energy toward your verbal score. Clearly you're consistent in math (51 for both, can't do much better than that!), but verbal is keeping you from 770+, and you don't seem as consistent there.

Good luck!
