The primary responsibility of citizens is to obey their nation's civil and criminal laws.
The author of this topic states that obeying to civil and criminal law is the first priority of citizens. While critics may argue that law alone cannot improve morality of people, I contend that we need a subjective way to decide whether something is right. Of all factors attribute to the prosperity of society, the existence of law serves as a fundamental platform for people's life.

Firstly, law ensures safety of people, especially for those people using a machine. Law sections clearly restrict what people cannot do in order to avoid casualties. The more we adhere to the law, the less likely are we to encounter any accident. For instance, one can imagine how many traffic accidents would occur if drivers do not keep the traffic laws in mind while they are driving.

Secondly, law provides a stable environment for business traders, giving them confidence to carry on their business transactions. No unscrupulous traders can cheat others without lawsuits. Professionals, such as accountants and financial analysts, have to deliver their professional opinions honestly under the law. The former world's largest accounting firm involved in the Enron scandal, Arthur Anderson was sued due to its illicit practices in business. This case marks the importance of obeying to law.

Last but not least, law enhances our living environment and social harmony. Should laws that ban every one smoking in public places and laws that require every one to keep public places clean not exist, we would not live in cities with such comfortless.

To conclude, the obedience to law restraints anyone abuse his power. As we always say that rights comes with responsibilities, we can see that law is the building block of a highly civilized society, and obeying law should be the primary concern to every citizens of a nation.
