Profile evaluation

by alice912 » Mon Sep 28, 2009 10:09 am
Hi. I am an undergrad who is graduating in May 2010. I am planning on attending b-school right after my graduation (obstacle #1). Can you tell me if my stats can get me into my target schools?

GMAT: 650 (42Q 38V)
GPA: 3.7
Work experience: 0, but a lot of summer internships with great recommendations
Extracurriculars: VP and secretary and founder of various school clubs
Background: international student born in HK

Thanks!

Alice912,

Thanks for your note. In order to advise you on your target schools, you should mention what schools you are targeting.

While your 3.7 college gpa is quite good, your 650 GMAT is below average for top schools. If you are aiming for top 10-top 15 schools, you will really need to raise your GMAT score to 700+.

You clearly have some good summer internship experience and leadership experience in college. However, you would greatly increase your chances at top business schools if you work for a few years before applying, since most business schools like to see at least some work experience.

Sincerely,

Eliot Ingram
