let me give an example so it'll be easier to understand how these words work 8)
"Whenever I log in to the forums and see new topics, I usually end up doing one of following things: I read whole topic and post my opinion; or I just read title of the topic and ignore it completely."
haha this must have complicated the things.
colon and semicolon sometimes used in 'event n reasoning' sentences.
e.g.
"Sometimes I really dont recollect to whom I replied to on forums; forums population has increased tremendously."
note that you can also use colon on above example.
