Hi there,

I don't understand how to attack this SC how to resolve
What is the concept behind; A clear explanation is requested.

At Shiprock, New Mexico, a perennially powerful girls' high school basketball team has become a path to college for some and a source of pride for a community where the household incomes of 49 percent of them are below the poverty level.

(A) where the household incomes of 49 percent of them are
(B) where they have 49 percent of the household incomes
(C) where 49 percent of the household incomes are
(D) which has 49 percent of the household incomes
(E) in which 49 percent of them have household incomes

OA is c

answers A, B, and E use ambiguous pronouns.

for example in answer A, where the household incomes of 49 percent of them are . Who does them refer to? Household incomes? Community?

between answers C and D, answer D changes the original intent of the sentence. The sentence can be interpreted that the community houses 49% of the incomes, which doesn't make much sense.

The best answer is C.
