Scored a 700

by shilpi84 » Fri Oct 16, 2009 6:48 am
Hi all,

I just returned from the exam center.I have scored a 700(q 47 v 40).This was a really difficult journey! This was my third attempt. In the previous attempts I had scored 630.
Here is the link to my previous post.

I still believe that I could have done better than 700 today had it not been for the disturbance during the quant portion of the exam:(.The guy sitting next to me was constantly flipping his booklet and making noise with it.My practice test scores in Manhattan were
710,680,720,710,750.
My GMAT prep scores were
730,760
I still believe I could have done much better today.I will be applying to a few universities in round 1 and to a few universities in round 2.I am an indian IT female and this pool is overrepresented.I may take the GMAT again!

Regards

Shilpi

Let me be the first to congratulate you Shilpi! I totally understand about indian IT crowd because I am in the same boat. But the good thing with you is that you are a female and at least indian colleges like ISB etc want to increase the ratio of female to male in their colleges. Which college are you looking for?

Thanks Ansh and Ritesh!

Crazy4gmat..I solved 1 LSAT set everyday and also read economist for 30 minutes everyday. This really helped me in improving my reading speed.I realised that under time pressure i used to regress a lot while reading,so I decided to improve my reading speed. While practicing I used to make sure that I do not regress and that I understand the structure of the passage in a single reading.

Regards

Shilpi
