Tricky problem.. i also picked e at first..

So statement 1 and 2 by themselves are no good.. so its either

C or E

Combine the two problems you get

1>=x>=0

meaning x is between 0 and 1 any numbers plugged in that equation between 0 and 1 = 1. test it out.
