Is the hundredths digit of decimal d greater than 5?

(1) The tenths digit of 10d is 7.

(2) The thousandths digit of of d/10 is 7.

The software says D and I say E is the answer. Please explain why the software is correct? Thanks.

For Statement I:

Pick a number to help visual it better.

Let's say d = 1.47

1.47 X 10 = 14.7 - All you're doing is moving the decimal place over. So it's really saying 7 is the hundredths digit, which is suff.

Statement II:

1.47/10 = .147

Again, you're just moving the decimal in the other direction. Again, it's telling you the hundredths digit.
