Any point doing my GMAT again?

I just took my GMAT and scored a 570 (Q47 V23). I've kind of lost all hope of pursuing an MBA. The way I figure, even if I do my GMAT again and manage close to a 700 score, I'm not going to stand a chance of getting a decent B-School. Most of the really good schools take the average of both the attempts, so unless I get a 780 next time, I dont think I can get into decent program. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The worst part of this experience is the fact that I've never done so badly in verbal in any of the practice tests, I was absolutely devastated when I saw a soce of V23. I just don't know what to do. I don't believe this situation is redeemable now.

Hi Vivek,

I wanted to correct you about top schools taking the average of your GMAT scores. This is NOT true. The top b-schools will take your BEST score. So if you work hard and score in the 700's on your next attempt, that is the score the b-school will accept!

I suggest you regroup and come up with a comprehensive study plan and take the GMAT again. Don't let this one GMAT attempt hold you back. There are many inspirational stories on this forum of members getting in the 500's on their first attempt and ending up in the 700's!
