Hi - i plan to apply to tier 1 schools this month and wanted to hear some suggestions. thank you.
Basic info
- 3 yrs of investment banking at morgan stanley (promoted during financial crisis)
- 3.8 GPA at top 20 school, double major in business and a social science
- 760 GMAT
- business school to gain general mgmt skills, round out finance background, network to become CEO of the next microsoft or apple
- extra currics: did community service in third world country prior to investment banking. active in alumni networks/mentoring for organizations i was active in college
questions:
- how have ppl with my background in the past differentiated themselves?
- is it strategic to talk less about deals because they are common and admissions directors understand our job inside and out
- is it a must to visit schools
- in terms of hbs vs wharton vs stanford do you have any suggestions on what i need to look out for in terms of emphasizing / de-emphasizing any themes?
