Profile Evaluation Please

by Wonka555 » Fri Sep 11, 2009 11:10 am
Hello There,

B.S. in Media and Communications from NYU
3.7 GPA
740 GMATS Scores

Extra Curriculars:
Played Rugby throughout college and wrestled for one year.

Work Exp:
I currently run my own successful clothing line.
During school I had internships with large media conglomerates and with bulge bracket investment banks.

There are some massive problems though. One of them is that I was caught cheating twice during undergrad. The other is that I have had to retake 3 classes (mainly because of the cheating).
This all occurred 3 years ago. Am I going to be able to get into a top 15 school with my horrible school record?

Thank you.

That profile will be a tough one. It isn't impossible, but it will be difficult and you might need to put an additional year or two between you and college, especially if the cheating occurred later in your college career.

You will need to address the incidents, take responsibility for your errors, and demonstrate that you have learned from the experience. You will also probably need to apply to more schools to increase the likelihood that one will bite.

Essentially it will be more difficult for you than for most with your stats, but I think it is possible.

Best,
Linda
