Fell on my knees in the first attempt - 660, Q49,V31
Ok, I have been a passive browser of this forum, have never posted a single page, but I have learnt a lot from this forum. So I had decided long before my D-Day that whatever may be my result, I would write on this thread at-least. And here I am...
I gave the GMAT yesterday - 09.09.09 (for few, I am sure this would have been a lucky string!!), and to seal on my disappointment, I got the score as 660; the split being Q49, V31. Why I said so is because I got the exact score on last 2 of my mock tests, and somehow I was feeling that I would get the same score on the D-Day as well, and I did! May be I got a little too pessimistic. I was aiming for a 740!!
I prepared for 2 months before writing the exam and from the starting only I knew English was my weak point, CR - to be specific. The worst part being: even after knowing what my weak part was, I could not improve it somehow. I used to write the mock tests, analyze my mistakes, but somehow I was not able to implement what I had learnt from my mistakes in the subsequent tests. I guess my strategy was completely wrong! Another mistake which I think I have done is by taking 7 mock tests on the last 8 days before the actual GMAT. I don't know whether because of this my mind was in its least processing state on the D-Day.
Here are my mock test results:

As you can see, my verbal score varied abruptly from 25 to 36. I was not able to control it, so I need all your help; it will be a great help for me if somebody can give me good pointers on it.
Another question is, how do I improve my CR? I had studied from OG12 and I guess I did all the questions once. But the problem being, I was not able to answer correctly the questions from medium/hard pit. 99% of the times I would get stuck with 2 options (of which 1 used to be the correct answer) and I would always mark the incorrect option as the answer!! And I am still wondering how I could maintain such a consistent performance! So kindly tell me what is the best source to study CR? I am planning to give GMAT again probably after 30-40 days.
Thanks in advance for your help!
