Need direction in preparation

Hi,

I took GMAT last year and scored 650.This time i am aiming high.I started the preparation around mid july and have taken the date of 6th Oct.To gauge myself i took Powerprep before starting my preparation.I got 590.I tried to strengthen my weak areas.I am weak at CR

Recently i have been performing very strange.When i take a section test ( CR/RC/SC from OG) of 75 minutes ( 41qs) I achieve 80% accuracy in RC and SC and 60-70% accuracy in CR.However when i take the full length test,i get very pathetic score in Verbal.Last saturday i tool Manhatttan online test and scored 530 ( Q 47 and Verbal 18 ).Just the day before that, i took Verbal test ( verbal questons 1-45 in 75 minutes) and i achieved more than 80% accuracy.

The same situation today when taking Powerprep.I scored 560 ( 47 Q 21 V) although i came to know some weakness such as I left 3 questions in Maths and 3 in verbal which also must have put my score down.In verbal i attempted 39 and ,made 13 wrong,3 left and 25 correct.

I have been putting 2 hrs daily and good amount of time in weekedns.But i dont see a good progress in Full length tests.

Any suggestion to improve.

It sounds like you are really emphasizing hit rate to gauge your performance. In my opinion, this is not a really good indicator to observe. On the real GMAT, you can actually get a lot of questions wrong and still end of with a great score. The trick is to get a lot of difficult questions correct.

Also, it's not uncommon at all to do better when you do one 75-minute section by itself than when you take a whole test - especially for the verbal, since that shows up last. Very simply, you're tired by then and when you're tired you don't perform as well.

Remember that for the test, since your stamina has to be good for the whole 3.5+ hours.
