Fear of taking tests

by levocap » Sat Sep 12, 2009 6:09 am
I have this fear whenever I take even the practice tests. Like today, I am suppose to take a practice exam. But I am so nervous about it because I am afraid of what the results might say. I guess I am more fearful that my score is lower than the previous week because that would mean all my hard work from the previous week is wasted.
I know i have to get over this because this mentality can't be good for the real thing 3 weeks away. How do i get of this? Any suggestions in changing my mental paradigm?

hi levocop,

basically u are having a fear of failure.

well i do have sometimes this thing. to overcome this i had created a folder in mydesktop full of some positive quote.whenever my enthu is down or morale is low or i am feeling like an underdog, I use to read those quotes .and visualze all the good thing i hAve done or any achievement . any thing whichever is positive. this keeps me motivated . Remember staying motivated will help in preparation.
to give u some energy here some lines particular to your case

There is the risk you cannot afford to take ,and there is the risk u cannot afford not to take.
It does not matter how many times you get knocked down , but how many times you get up

Thanks for the vote of encouragement. I went ahead and took the practice test and scored 20pts higher than last practice, so I am happy that I went thru with it (at least I know my efforts last week was not wasted :). Its nice to see improvement.

Taking another test tomorrow! Keep on trucking guys!
