630 for University of Toronto - Should I retake?

Some suggestions needed. Just finished my test two hours ago, greatly exhausted and disappointed. I thought I had bombed the Quantitative section but ended up with Q48 and thought i mastered the verbal section and ended up with V28. Do you guys think I should retake? First of all, would UT (of course it's far afield from Stanford people talk about here) accept this score with 2 years of OK work expereince? the V28 is simply appalling. Given that score, I wonder if they'll even consider me...

Generally speaking, schools put more emphasis on the quant than the verbal, but they like to see something closer to a balance than you achieved on this test. I would say you could retake with more time to prep the verbal and see if you can't pull it up a bit. Another option would be to demonstrate verbal ability in your academic past (english class scores etc...). Hope this helps.

Last year Rotman's average GMAT intake score was 653 and the average student had 4 years of work experience - given that you fall short on both, unless there's something else remarkable about your application (e.g. GPA or life experience), I'd certainly consider rewriting the exam.

Before you do so, talk to the Rotman admissions team. If you live in Toronto (or nearby), attend the World MBA Forum this coming Sunday at the Convention Centre - you can get the details at www.topmba.com - and talk to the admissions people at the event. If you live in another major city, chances are the World MBA forum is coming to your town at some point this fall.
