Please Advice

by chaku » Fri Sep 04, 2009 3:59 am
Hi Stacy,

I appeared for GMAT today and scored(or endup with) 610 [V28,Q47].In my previous attempt I scored 570[V37,Q30].
I am targetting London Business School Executive MBA Jan2010. Do you think I can apply with this score? I checked LBS website and min. score they require to apply is 600.

Beside, this I have strong academic background. I passed my Bachelors Degree(Electronic Engineering) with Distinction. I am having work experience(mainly IT) of almost 10 years ranging from software development. Have good understanding of the domain i worked on mainly manufacturing(largest cement plants),supply chain management,Service Level Managment(healthcare).

Do you think i can make a better case to gain entry in LBS? or should i start preparing for GMAT again for better score :-(

Dear chaku,

Your 610 is above the minimum, so you can certainly apply. Your raw quant is good and your engineering degree will also demonstrate quantitative ability. Since decisions are made on more than a GMAT score, it is hard to know how you will compare to the rest of the applicant pool. However, I do think you should apply with a strong set of essays, great recommendations and a resume geared towards your managerial not technical skills. For the best insight into your chances with your current profile, I suggest you call the EMBA admissions office and speak to an admissions professional there.

Good luck,
Lisa
