I am just missing something???????? HELP

by Sullivan63 » Tue Sep 01, 2009 4:23 pm
I have now taken the GMAT 3 times. Before I started taking the class and studying very intensly, I got a 600 on MGMAT practice test to see where I stood. I studied very hard was getting high 600s on practice tests and took the GMAT for the first time and got a 590. Was completely deflated...Went back to work and was getting my practice tests up to the low 700s level and took it again (650)...still unhappy. Went back to work and was getting again 700+ on practice, went in for a third attempt and got a 560. I am at a loss for words, I have not idea whats going on or what to do. If anyone has ideas, suggestions or anything else for me I would love to hear it. Thanks very much.

While I do not represent that part of the company, I know that Veritas courses allow you to retake the course over and over until you get the score you're happy with....perhaps the kind of support and tutoring that would come from such a course would be a helpful thing for your inconsistency. In the end, at least you are scoring in the mid-sixes, which is a great score and even though it's below the mean for top schools, remember, half the accepted students scored below the mean. While schools will see all your scores on the official report, they will only consider your top score which you self report in your application.
