680 on my second attempt :(

by ben wade » Mon Aug 17, 2009 9:57 am
Took my second shot at GMAT and scored a very avg 680. :(.
I was scoring in the 720 in my GMAT preps.
I had a 650 on my earlier attempt. Guys, need your advice on whether to retake within a month as I am pretty sure i can cross the 700 mark.

Zuleron, Jeff - you guys were real inspires while i studied for this attempt. But alas i could not keep up to the expectations.

It's still a strong score and you will do much better your second time around. Don't worry too much. You're in good shape.

Hey Jeff, This was my second attempt infact.
So, I just wanted to know people's opinion on whether a retake is required - for the third time.

I do believe that I need a 700+ score for the schools that i am applying to. But would taking the GMAT 3 times be held against me?

you may want to prepare some more and take some more practice tests. However, you are in great shape.
