Do i stand a chance in Stern part time

I am having 10+ yrs of work exp in IT field, currently working as a Technical Manager in a product company. I also have some very good consulting exp with 2 of the top Big 5 consulting firms (IBM and Capgemini). With a GMAT score of 610 and a GPA of 3.0 from University of Mumbai, India(Bachelor of Architecture), do i stand a chance to get into part time programme of NYU Stern.

Perhaps. I do think there will be concern around your GMAT and GPA. I think you should consider retaking the GMAT, but also think you should talk with an admissions representative at Stern directly. You might be able to get some insight as to your chances and if there might be other concerns as well.

Hi Lisa,

I am planing to retake my GMAT. I wanted to ask one thing, i can't do a full time but at the same time i do not want to drag on with my MBA for a 3+ yrs. In this case is it wise for me to take a EMBA with a 18 months to 20 months duration .

You have enough work experience for an executive MBA program, so that is certainly an option for you. You need to consider your rationale for going to business school. Why do you want your MBA? what are your career goals? Folks in executive MBA programs are not looking to make a career change and need the education to advance their careers to the next level. If that is your plan, then it would be worth visiting these programs and talking to the admissions people about the executive program versus the part-time program. I think the best way to know which is right for you is to visit those programs, attend class, and talk to current students.
