top tips for hbs 2+2 application

Hi,

I would be applying for the HBS 2+2 next fall (end of my junior year at college) and would like to know what could be the top tips to keep in mind. Unfortunately I can't post my profile here due to the no cross posting condition but assuming a 3.5+ GPA, 720+ GMAT score and some pretty good undergrad work exp (internships/co-op, etc) and good quality extra curriculars, what are your best tips?

If am not being clear, then basically I would like to know if there are any particular things the HBS 2+2 adcom looks for and points to be highlighted in my application which would instantly click with them.

Thanks in advance and sorry if am asking too much. Even a rough idea would be very helpful if its not possible to pin point

Hi and thanks for your question. Apologies for taking longer than my usual couple of days to answer your question but it has been absolutely nuts with Webinars, new clients, etc.

Cutting right to the chase, though, I just want to make sure that you understand that the 2+2 program is for applicants that have two years of post-undergrad experience (so, it's two years of work experience and two years of business school, hence 2+2). I inferred from reading your question that that you are planning to apply directly out of undergrad.

Am I missing something here?

Regardless of the question, a good 2+2 applicant is going to have great undergrad work experience (co-op'ing, one of the most under-rated opportunities in American life in my opinion, wouldn't hurt), great post-grad experience, and some compelling reason to get your MBA a year or more earlier than most of your peers. In other words, you need some kind of compelling narrative, some kind of thing that totally and uniquely sets you apart.

Just being smart and having a good GMAT isn't going to do it. You need to bring more to the party than that.

All that said, why don't you let me know about when you plan to apply and then we can talk a bit more about things you can be doing to get yourself in.

Okay. Just did a little research on the 2+2. Somehow I didn't have clear that one applies while still in college.
