Got 740 but low AWA

by ashutosh.panwar » Thu Aug 20, 2009 10:04 am
Hi, I have taken the test recently and scored 740(Q-50 93%,V41 92%). But I messed up with AWA its just 4.
Does low AWA weaken my chances of getting a good school?
Please suggest how to cover up my low AWA.

I don't think an AWA of 4 will hurt you in any way, but you could ask this question in our special, "Ask an MBA Admissions Consultant" section.

And BTW, that's a pretty good score you've got! You should be proud of yourself!

Congrats on you great score...740 wow!
I am sure something messed up in your AWA...for some of us could you please elaborate on your AWA please? Do you happen to recall if something major mistake done...such as incomplete sentences. You sure were not off the topic, which would have been resulted lot low score than 4.

That's interesting, as I also scored a 740 just earlier this week, and I received my official score report today - ended up w/ a 5.0 on the AWA. To be honest, I wasn't expecting anything lower than a 6.0. Any form of subjective evaluation on a "standardized test" concerns me... I guess this stuff can happen. FWIW, I felt really good about my essays after writing them.
