I'd say spend about three-four minutes reading the passage for the first time and answering the first question. If you get it from the go, then you won't have to come back an re-read for the next 3-4 questions. As for those that follow, I'd say that about 1 minute per question is OK. If you've understood the text from your first read, you'll get the next questions a lot faster.

AS I have read in one prominent book. It says skim the passage for the first time and realize "whats going on?" Then jump to directly for answering the question, you will save lot more time then you expect because no need to reread the passage.

What you are saying??? I have lot trouble in RC then any other part.

And how you got that much score 770, 780 and so on

Actually, if you just skim through the first time without properly reading the passage, you'll surely need to read it again and again for each question. Skimming means just looking over the text, without in depth understanding. You usually skim when you're just trying to get the main point of a passage. While this may come up as a question in the GMAT ("What's the main point of the passage?"), there will certainly be questions that ask specific details that you might miss.

Improving RC means improving your general English. As such, try making the language a part of your daily life: read good quality stuff (books, reputed online newspapers like businessweek.com, forbes.com) and try to watch shows in English.

My score is not that impressive: you need to count the fact that I improved only 70 points from my first CAT of 700. That's not such a big deal IMO...
