I decided to join part time MBA locally pretty late on an impulse after attending an MBA information session on July 7th 09. I decided that I will try to get in for the Fall 09 semester. My application deadline was Aug 1.
I scheduled the GMAT for Aug 1. Requested some books from the library (Kaplan, Princeton, Petersons (which I never opened)). Got the books the next week. Started studying from about July 12/14. I completed all basics from Kaplan. Downloaded some stuff off the web too. Just before I started to study I gave one Barrons GMAT exam. Didn't score too well in that.
I completed all questions from the official guide 11th edition (SC, CR and Math). Then in the last week took a test each day.
GMATPrep 1 - 560
GMATPrep 2 - 640
then I moved on to the Kaplan tests which were horrible.
Kaptest 1 - 550
Kaptest 2 - 540
Kaptest 3 - 560
Finally on the 2nd last day bfore the exam took the MGMAT free exam online
MGMAT - 660
In all these exams my Quant score was 45/46+ and verbal was between 28 and 32.
Final exam day, I think I screwed up a bit in Math. The night before I read Princeton's verbal strategy of POE in SC. Used that in the main exam. I think that helped a bit.
GMAT : 660 (Q-44, V-37, my highest so far)
So all in all, I am happy with the score with 2 weeks effort. I was just mad that if I had done a little better in Math my score might have been 700
I also want to thank everyone here for posting good questions and explanations in the diff sections which helped me learn.
