A - WORDY; Of everyone, A is best OF THEM. Here, OF THEM is unnecessary.
B - OF everyone, the best is A - CORRECT
C - BETTER is WRONG here. Since we're comparing Martin Luther King with all others, BEST should be correct.
D - Same as above. Better - Wrong
E - WAS is wrong. Its still true. Of everyone, A IS best even now

then why here.. we choose "the best known is martin luther " ?

I know A is wordy ... but if .. "of them " wouldnt have been there.. then would A be right ??

Here the best known is Martin Luther is not the modifier but the part of the main sentence:
"Of the people who brought about the Reformation, the best known is Martin Luther"

the religious revolution.... is the modifier modifying Reformation

IMO B. "Their" is ambiguous in rest of the choices and we can't use better because he is compared to many others.
